Colombo International Container Terminal Orders 56 Bromma Spreaders
Stockholm-based Bromma, the world leader in crane spreaders, has won major new contracts for the supply of Greenline™ all-electric spreaders to terminals in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and China.
The largest of these orders is a June, 2012 contract for 56 crane spreaders to Colombo International Container Terminal in Sri Lanka, of which 44 of these will be Bromma’s YSX40E all-electric yard crane spreaders. Colombo International Container Terminal is a new deep water greenfield terminal development project in Sri Lanka.
“Bromma is extremely pleased to be partnering with Colombo International in the development of this important transshipment centre in Asia,” commented Vikram Raman, Vice-President and Commercial Director at Bromma. “This is a very important port development project in South Asia and Bromma is delighted to be selected to support the terminal with equipment that will be crucial to its future operational success.”
In addition to the Colombo order, Bromma has also won a new Greenline™ contract for the supply of 17 YSX45E yard crane spreaders to Northport in Malaysia. Northport is the largest multi-purpose port in Malaysia.
Finally, Bromma has won a new contract for the supply of 16 Greenline™ YSX40E crane spreaders to Nansha in China.
This Nansha contract follows shortly after Bromma’s June 2012 celebration, at the port of Ningbo Daxie in China, of the delivery of its 2,000th all-electric spreader.
All 33 spreaders for Northport and Nansha are all scheduled for delivery by the end of 2012.
