Research & Development

by Bromma

Bromma's research and development department is particularly active in the area of electrical and electronic engineering.

Bromma's Smart Spreader development program is the consequence of a huge investment of man-hours and funds. The result has been a series of important improvements in the areas of condition monitoring, twin-twenty detection and automatic positioning.

Innovation is a tradition at Bromma. Bromma developed the first telescopic spreader, the first 45' spreader, the first true lightweight spreader line and the first twin-lift spreader. The Smart Spreader is just one in a long series of "firsts" at Bromma.

Bromma also pays attention to small design areas. For example, Bromma makes its own stainless-steel cabinets for electrical componentry and special attention has been paid to designing good access to all components.

Likewise, Bromma pays close attention to the performance of the many components used on our spreaders. In monthly meetings Bromma quality groups review service reports from the field and use them to identify problem areas, evaluate component suppliers, re-design equipment or make small changes to our electrical or hydraulic systems.
